McGill University Among Top 50 Universities in the World

McGill University continues to be among the top 50 universities in the annual QS World University Rankings.

According to Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), McGill ranked 31st in the world. It trails the University of Toronto as the second-best Canadian University.

2021 rankings report marked schools by six metrics

According to QS Report

McGill ranks among Canada’s most prestigious universities. It attracts thousands of international students from over 150 countries every year, and the highest percentage of PhD students of any Canadian research university. 

It owes its reputation to its 50 research centres and institutes, 400+ programs, rich history and thriving alumni network of 250,000 people around the globe. 

McGill High Rankings

In the 2021 ranking, McGill received a very high academic reputation. It has a score of 92.3 and an overall grade of 80.

All American Top 3 includes MIT, Stanford and Harvard Universities. McGill’s ranking of 31st in the world is four spots better than 2021’s 35th overall global ranking,

According to the QS World University Ranking, McGill is now trending upwards after five years of being on the downfall since back-to-back years of being ranked 21st in the world, in both 2014 and 2015.

According to the World University Rankings survey conducted by the Times Higher Education in 2020, McGill ranked 42nd in the world. (Again behind the University of Toronto. Damn Toronto!)

McGill has been also ranked high in the Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) annual World University Rankings, released on June 8.

In 2020, McGill jumped to 27th out of 2,000 universities on the list, a move of three spots from 30th last year. CWUR assesses 20,000 universities around the word to compile its rankings.
